Rob Kuipers

Rob Kuipers was born in Zwolle (The Netherlands) in 1953. After graduating in Economics at the University of Groningen, in 1977, he started his career as civil servant at the Ministry of Finance in The Hague.

In 1988 he became director  Budgetary Affairs at that Ministry, and in 1991 he was appointed as deputy Director General, also being Director of the Inspectorate of the State Budget.

In 1997 he became Director General at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, responsible for Social Insurances Policy and Occupational Health and Safety.

In 2003 he was appointed as Director General at the Ministry of the Interior, responsible for Management of the Public Sector, including collective bargaining for civil servants.

From mid 2008 until mid 2009 he had a sabbatical year.

After starting up again in the Civil Service (from mid 2009) as Commissionar on Standard Business Reporting, in 2010 he was appointed as member of ABDTOPConsult, a new and small top level organisation within central government (level of Director Generals en Secretary Generals) that is specialised in running government wide programs and consultancy. One of the programmes he is still running (as SBR Commissionar), is the Dutch Standard Business Reporting program.

Rob is married, has one daughter and two grandchildren.
